By the latter part of 1963 surf music dominated the Australian Charts, particularly in Sydney and Brisbane. The Delltones were quick to release the tongue in cheek composition, "Hangin' Five", written by Ben Acton who was a police officer and also a lifesaver with Manly Surf Club and a member of the police band.
