Description: "The Crone" 10x13 inch handmade, hand carved, hand printed linoleum block print. The print was carved from linoleum. The linoleum was then inked. The ink color is rich black. I used Cranfield ink and Rives BFK paper to create the print.A spoon and brayer were used to transfer the ink onto the the paper. The Crone is the archetype of the wise old woman. She is represented by the waning crescent moon. At Halloween/Samhain she presides over a cauldron of souls.She is a gatekeeper between the realm of the living and the dead. She is the old one, the witch. Her eyes are white with cataracts. She sees all with her third eye. In this linocut the Crone conjures magick in her flaming cauldron. Ghostly images appear in the bubbling liquid. A waning crescent moon glows above her head. Please allow for variations in the ink due to the nature of hand printing. The print will arrive unframed in pristine condition in a clear protective envelope.
