Description: The Beatles - Abbey Road. In my opinion the best Beatles album with the first press being a stunning audible experience unrivalled by any other press! Original UK first press from 1969. This version is the "first label, revised cover" version. Dark green labels with a whole apple on the A-side and a half, sliced-open apple on B-side. The labels have the ("An E.M.I. Recording") text on two lines and small "33 1/3" text moved to the left side. Publishing year printed with a small ® symbol. The B-side label does not have "Her Majesty" credits. The labels are quite dark, although the actual shade of green varies between copies. Comes in a fully laminated cover without flaps on the back side. The front cover has the drain showing, the rear cover has the Apple logo aligned with the text. Another distinguish trait of this pressing is the alternate indenting style on the last two lines of Side B ("Northern Songs. NCB" is by itself on the last line). Some copies were packaged with a die-cut black inner sleeve, this copy has a white inner sleeve with the patent no. 1,125,555 on the left & MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN on the right. Matrix / Runout - Runout side A: YEX 749-2 OL 1 Matrix / Runout - Runout side B: YEX 750-1 RR 2 Vinyl: Plays back EXCELLENT! Visually graded at VG+. A few minimal light hairline surface marks visible under bright light. Minimal crackle in a couple of spots. No heavy noise, clicks or pops. No deep surface marks. The record has retained its lovely clean sheen. Clean labels, minimal scuffing around centre hole from spindle. Cover: Excellent! Minimal ageing wear is visible but nothing detrimental to its overall appearance. The most notable wear on the front is a 5cm crease in the blue in between the tree lines (just right of centre). A handful of tiny creases to the laminate scattered around the edges plus very faint outer ring wear. The rear also has a very faint outer ring wear plus a couple of small creases to the laminate. Colours are clear and vivid, spine in excellent condition too just a 1.5cm scuff at the bottom. Please study the pictures closely as they form part of the description. Do you want to save money on postage? Why not look at my other vinyl auctions. I’d be happy to combine postage where possible. If you need anymore information or pictures please get in touch. All records I sell are part of my own collection and only being sold to make room for new purchases. For those who win multiple auctions please wait to be invoiced before payment is made. Record grading: Near Mint (NM) - The record has been on a shelf between other records. The vinyl looks glossy and clearly has only been played a few times. There are no marks on the vinyl and the whole package is complete. Excellent (E) - Same but I'd tolerate very light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times, or tiny signs of use generally. Very Good Plus (VG+) - A few further faults are acceptable, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly. A little rub, light inaudible marks, a little background crackle. Very Good (VG) - It's seen a bit of life, but is still usable. Light pops and clicks, an edge split, light visible scratches. You can still listen to it and enjoy looking at it, but it is visually and audibly USED.
