Some of these 10Baht banknotes were stolen during transportation by train from Singapore to Bangkok. The boxes containing such notes were pushed by foot from the train in the similar situation as what happened when the V banknotes were stolen with forged signature. When the Thai authorities found out and announced that such notes were illegal, The bank of Thailand later on felt ashamed to destroy those notes and decided to surcharge the value to the lowest denomination of 50 Satang and put into circulation.
