Description: TEPHROCACTUS ARTICULATUS VAR. PAPYRACANTHUS- Once cataloged as Opuntia articultus, renamed Tephrocactus in1953. Commonly called "Paper Spines Cholla". Very pretty, nice fresh plants grown from cuttings, aprx. 3 inches tall, larger if one includes the spines, most are two to three joints or pads, a few are large single pads. Originally a native to Argentina, these have a wide range from Cordoba, Mendoza, Salta, San Luis, and Santiago del Estero. Produces white flowers when undisturbed. Fairly easy to grow in most climates, must be protected from frost.
