For your consideration is this WWII era, 80 year old, WAR DEPARTMENT TECHNICAL MANUAL TM 9-280 on “CALIBER .22 RIFLES, ALL TYPES”. The front cover of the manual is dated "16, MARCH 1944" (see description photos #1, #2, #6 and #7). The manual weighs approximately 8.0 ounces by itself and has 143 numbered pages. The manual measures approximately 9-1/8" long, 5-7/8" wide and 3/8” thick. Refer to description photos #12, #13 and #14 to confirm the size dimensions and for more details about what I have described. This 80 year old manual remains in good condition for its age and use with obvious signs of genuine age and prior use. The covers are securely attached as are all the internal pages. The back cover and a few of the internal pages in the back of the book show to have received some mild water staining sometime back in the distant past long before the book came into my possession. All the internal pages are clean and easily legible. There are no missing or damaged pages and all remain securely bound between the front and back covers. The bottom right corner of the manual has a few pages with folded corners and the right corner of the cover has broken off as depicted in the description photos. There are no loose, ripped, torn or repaired pages and all are free from any handwritten notations or markings. Refer to all the description photos to confirm the overall condition of the manual and for more details about what I have described. Overall, this is a very informative soldier’s manual that provides valuable guidance and instruction on the functionality and maintenance of the .22 caliber military issued rifle.
