Description: This antique book is a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts of Irish history. The "Maps of the Roads of Ireland" by Taylor and Skinner is a first edition, inscribed by the author and was published in 1977. The book is a detailed description of the road maps of Ireland several hundred pages with detailed land surveys. It even shows the peoples homes and the residents that lived there in the road maps, which were surveyed in 1777. The hardcover book has a case binding intact, The pages are in excellent shape. After the authors finished The book was sold by G. Nicol, Strand; I. Murray, Fleet-Street, London. and by W. Wilson, No.6, Dame-Street, Dublin, London & Dublin. Personal note- books honestly in great shape besides the scuff on the front hard cover. Old books that have age to them shouldn't be opened while laying flat on the table you should always keep one side elevated to keep from stretching the book binding.the Paper is sturdy enough you don't gotta worry about pages ripping or falling out just be gentle with the huge folded ireland atlas page in the front, it's big. Also I've seen people selling pages from the book for 50-100 per page, (each page has two maps front and back) but that just goes to show how rare these road maps are. Google Copilot gave me an estimated price of 2000 based on past purchases and the rarity of the first editions not to mention it shows the author's personal touch in an inscription in the book which certainly raises the price. I hope someone else finds this book as intriguing as I do
