Tamiya Grand Hauler Rolling Drop Tag Axle Chassis 1/14 Semi 56344 Extras Project

Description: This is a brand newly assembled Grand Hauler rolling chassis. It is fresh put of the box and assembled per the manual. High quality ball-bearings have been installed as well as some generic metal geared servos for steering and shifting. No modifications have been made to the chassis (no drilled holes, cuts, etc). The front wheels are the 30mm wide units from a Teefer Trailer to give it the heavy duty look. The really cases are the carbon-reinforced matye type for better stiffness. All metal on metal fasteners have Tamiya Blue Locktoght applied just an FYI. Also included is a custom drop/tag axle if you wanted to make this a dump truck or something similar. It is made from a the front axle of the Tamiya Reefer Trailer. The tires are from a Tamiya Buggy Champ. They have a smaller diameter than stock Tamiya Semi tires. (RC4WD LoRider tires may be a better solution). Some other parts from other Tamiya semi kits were also used. The plastic axle case was modified for the drive shaft clearance. Some finish sanding/filling/painting(?) may be necessary if so desired. THE DROP AXLE, AS IT'S MADE CAN ONLY BE MOUNTED IN THE LOWERED POSITION, CANNOT BE MADE TO RAISE. YOU WILL NEED TO MEASURE, DRILL, AND TAP GOLES TO MOUNT. I did not mount the tag axle on the chassis so the builder can customize and use as they see fit.
