Vintage Time, Rapid City, South Dakota This is a very nice high-grade Waltham 18s pocketwatch whose dial, case and movement are in remarkable condition. This pocketwatch is in original condition, running well within one minute per day. The massive 56.75 mm diameter sterling silver swingout case from Crescent (#9028) is in original unmolested condition with little wear, and features an inlaid, well-preserved 14k Elk on the reverse. The case, a bit tricky to photograph, still shines beautifully without being polished in a very long time with excellent luster. Please be sure to view ALL the pictures: they are an essential component of this listing. The original single sunk porcelain dial has black Arabic numerals with dash minute track divided into 5-minute increments with overlaying red numerals. I can discern no hairlines on this dial. The beveled glass crystal very near flawless. The deeply blued light spade hands are in excellent condition. Speaking of the movement, this is a high-grade 15-jewel version is all tricked out and original to the case, which features a bimetallic compensated balance, Breguet hairspring, multiple blued screws, flawless gilt finish, and is adjusted to positions. The full plate movement is almost indistinguishable from new, the gilt finish absolutely sparkling against the sterling silver case, and the movement is running strongly. The serial number, 14453316, is from a run of 3,500 and dates this timepiece to circa 1905, 119 years ago. This is a true time capsule piece and is immenently wearable for the 21st century.
