Description: Superb Early Qing Chinese Highly Carved "Gathering at Lanting" Bamboo Brush Pot An outstanding early Qing period highly carved bamboo brush pot. The carving is illustrating an event of scholars gathering at Lanting Ridge. This pot probably has the most carved figures I have ever seen. It's nearly completely carved with no empty surface, multiple layers with great detail. I especially like those little vases on the cabinet behind those scholars under the pavilion. Very pleasant facial expression on all scholars, breathtaking skill of Qing Jiading style carving craftsmanship. This pot stands 16.5cm tall and 13.5cm wide. Only normal little cracks around the top and bottom due to its age, no damage of any other kind. More detail photos are available upon request.
