Built in the good ol' USA in Lake Elsinore, CA by some of the finest luthiers in the western hemisphere, this Standard HSS is an absolutely smokin' guitar. The playability and feel of the roasted maple neck is simply divine. The satin feel of the wood lets you fly up and down the neck without any stickiness whatsoever, and it can be argued that Suhr has been a pioneer in making roasted maple popular in recent years. The even C slim neck shape is comfortable and thin without feeling like you're holding a toothpick. The pickups in this one, the chimey V60s and the hot SSH+ humbucker, have a little more edge than their Classic brethren's usual configuration of V60LPs and an SSV humbucker, but the Standard's set is still capable of dialing up a vintage tone with no issues while still allowing you to delve into some modern sounds with more aggressiveness.
