BOTH ARE IN FANTASTIC CONDITION. ittorio Osvaldo Tommasini Farfa (1881-1964) aka Vittorino Tommasini (active in Trieste, Turin , Savona, and Sanremo, Italy) The protagonist of Futurism, Vittorio Osvaldo Tommasini Farfa was known as painter, ceramist, photographer, poster artist and poet. He was the author of many books of colorful caricature and bizarre subject matter. In his early career he was painting in the impressionistic style typical of other artist in this time period, but always with a tendency to be less academic in composition. These Italian and French Cityscapes would depict the daily life in the city or a walk through a city park with people living life. Usually signed V. Tommasini. By the late 1950s his style became more surrealist. He became known under his pen name Farfa. It was at this time he was discovered by the surrealist art dealer Arturo Schwarz. Schwarz was a famous Italian scholar, art historian, poet, writer, lecturer, art consultant and curator of international art exhibitions. Farfa was also part of a small group of surrealist that included Enrico Baj (1924 -2003) and other avant-garde protagonists Asger Jorn (1914-1973 ). His illustrations are included in Edoardo Sanguinetis, "Novecento Italian Poetry" and "The Poets of Futurism 1909-1944" by Glauco Viazziin. In 1964 Vittorio passed away in Sanremo. His work can be found in The Art Museum of Palazzo Gavotti, and The Savona ceramic museum in Italy.
