Description: Up for sale is a stunning hand painted enamel on porcelain art tile depicting The Adulterer from the Bible story of Jesus and The Adulterer. Measures approximately 6 3/4 x 4 3/8ths inches. Marked on the back "Ehebreckerin" which translates from German to English as "Adulterer." Marked with a Bindenschild or beehive mark on the reverse, which may or may not be real. Also marked with a gold painted "H" which I could not identify. The frame is heavy and has plaster issues, and is missing sections of it throughout. Obvious repair attempts have been made. The frame measures approximately 10 1/2 by 12 1/2 by 2 1/4 inches. Image area is approximately 6 x 4 inches. The tile is in the style of the Swiss Neoclassical painter Angelica Kauffman (Angelika Kauffmann), but I could not locate any image that was exact.
