Description: I'm selling my absolutely amazing Tibetan Kapala Skull! Beautifully carved metal work, holding a Rams skull in place. Made for the Victorian Market, who loved the rituals the Tibetian monks had, which included human skulls decorated in a similar manor - though they used to use gold and silver and jewels for those! As you can imagine, these are pretty rare. Just a wonderfully macabre piece, with great history. The plinth isn't original to it. Neither are the wooden feet - I used those as it was a bit unsteady when just on the three prongs. Condition is really good for it's age. The metal base is a bit wobbly, and the skull has a good patina, but there are no cracks etc that I can see. The plinth has a random slit in it, but it's covered by the wooden blocks I used to stabilise the skull. The plinth is Victorian as well, so though it's not original to the piece, it is of the same age. The wooden blocks can be removed and it stands on 3 metal legs, it's just a bit wobbly as the base metal is bumpy. I think it's one of the best pieces I've had in for a while! Any questions, or if you want more photos etc, just let me know.
