Description: David & Joyce Petrakovitz, Vintage Studio Pottery Stoneware Basket, Signed, 4x6x10", Detroit, MI, USA This auction is for a handcrafted stoneware basket with a unique, thick-walled oval shape and interesting tactile embellishments. It has an especially high handle leaving room to easily insert your own lush fruit or floral decorative arrangements; would also display nicely in the kitchen or office as a caddy for bread sticks or utensils, mail or desk items. The natural stoneware is glazed inside and out with a grey speckled, semigloss glaze. A painted lavender, blue and ocher fruit and floral design enhances both the front and the back side. The bottom is unglazed. Vintage, dating to before 1995, possibly 1980s, can't confirm. Origin - Detroit, Michigan, USA Incised cursive signature on the bottom reads "Petrakovitz." Colors are richer and warmer than photos can show. Measures 10" high including the handle. The basket section is 4 1/4" high, 6" wide and 4" deep. Weighs 2 pounds, 8 ounces before packagingVery good pre-owned vintage condition with no chips, cracks or surface wear to note.
