Description: Travel back in time with this old Stradivarius copy violin. With a 14'' body and a 23-1/2'' scale length, it is a 4/4, full-size violin. The inside label reads "Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1716." The other inside label above says it was repaired by Geo W. Neeley in 1936. So, it's pre-1936. I assume it was made in Germany, but the label does not say. Two-piece flame maple back. Flame maple sides. Spruce top with a tight, fairly straight grain. Maple neck. Four fine tuners. Ebony nut and tailpiece. CONSERVATORY VIOLIN is stamped on the back of the headstock. There are some minor scuffs and scrapes on the top and back. Overall, it looks good. The pegs and peg holes are in good round. The modern bow is stamped JAPAN by the frog. It comes in a modern black molded plastic case. The handle, latches, and hinges all work. It came from a 92-year-old man who played fiddle his whole life. It's a good old violin, ready for its next owner. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 32"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
