Stourbridge England VICTORIAN Applied FOOTED CRANBERRY PUNCH BOWL 5 Footed Cups

Description: English Victorian Stourbridge Applied Floral Cranberry Amber Punch Bowl & 5 Footed Cups mouseoverclick to enlarge WOW! This is a rare Victorian era punch bowl with 5 footed glasses, which I am attributing this to the English Stourbridge Glass Company. The applied feet is in their style as seen in the Colored Glass reference book. The bowl has a rolled, ruffled edge and has elaborate applied florals that look like dogwood. Gorgeous deep cranberry color with gold colored glass applied stem twig feet and dark green leaves. The bowl measures 11.5" high x 8" across the opening x 9" across the body. Condition: One flower petal tip is missing, a green leaf is missing, and there is an small air bubble on the rim. There are 5 matching footed glasses, with handles, that measure 5" high, 2.5" opening, and 4.25" across top to outer handle. I am not sure of the maker, but it must have been one of the top art glass houses of the era. This is a spectacular set with the gold coloring at the base giving way to the richest cranberry color I have ever seen! Truly meant to be cherished and should be displayed as the focal point of your collection! I am happy the damaged pieces were never discarded as this spectacular example of Victorian art glass would have been lost forever! 4 of the 5 glasses have damage as follows: #1)A little rough spot on the handle, crack on front side #2) Small chip on rim, roughness on handle, 1" crack #3) 2 of the tips of the green leaves have broken off,chip on rim #4) rough spot on handle, tip of green leaf missing, large crack near handle with hole in glass near handle #5) I see no damage on this glass (amazing!) All of the Victorian cranberry glass I have listed this week come from a prestigious, Kingston NY (Hudson Valley) estate, one avid collector! All high end, high quality pieces! Many rare finds!
