Description: Here is a Starrett No. S906Z precision tool kit in its original protective case. This set has been used??? Obviously not very much. Everything is in excellent used condition. There are no initials or engravings anywhere on these tools. When I received this set there was some minor rust starting. I carefully polished it off. There is some very minor pitting on the depth micrometer rods and on the spindles of tbe micrometer. (See the last two photos) The base of the depth micrometer also has some. I polished it up and it just has some patina. I cannot feel any pitting. Please don't let this detract from what is otherwise a very, very nice barely used set of tools. The No. 436 1" and 2" outside micrometer are both in excellent condition. The thimbles move easily without any hesitations, Smooth! The locks and ratchets work perfectly, just as designed. The carbide faces looks as if they were mirrors. There is a 1" standard included. The No. 823 inside micrometer set measures from 1 1/2" to 8". These tools and case are pristine. Not a flaw on anything. The No. 445 depth micrometer measures from 0" to 3". It has 3 interchangeable rods. All of this is kept inall comes in its fitted case that measures 13 1/8" x 8 3/4" 1 3/4". This case has done a very good job of protecting these tools. It has suffered plenty of cosmetic flaws from doing its job. It opens easily, latches shut, and holds these tools securely. It will continue to protect these tools for years to come. It is a shame these tools were not properly stored. Without the minor cosmetic issues, this would be sold as brand new.
