Description: ONE BRASS antique STAR trunk or chest lock with the key! Stamped with the Star emblem of Star Lock Works, which made many trunk locks from about 1868 in Philadelphia, PA. Their locks were used by many American trunk makers. This can replace broken locks of several American makers including Eagle, Corbin, or Yale. The lock base measures 3" tall and 4" wide to the edges. The top hasp is 3" tall and 2 7/8" wide to the edges. The lock requires a shallow hole for the bottom part. Install with trunk nails or rivets. A lock style used from the 1870s to the early 1900's on many types of trunks. Well made and very strong with a brass face plate, fancy brass key escutcheon, a steel rear lock mechanism, and a solid brass hasp. Comes with 1 steel working key. VERY hard to find especially with a key. These are NOT reproduced. Please send any questions you may have. This lock is in good complete working condition! It has a few small dents and dings but nothing major. A great collectible lock for a collection or great for an antique or new trunk. I combine shipping when possible to save you money. I do not make money on the shipping cost! Please see my other antique and vintage item listings. More locks and antique trunk parts can be seen by searching Google for ThisOldTrunk Thanks!
