Description: Stanley No 3C Type 11 Smooth Or Smoother Plane. This weighs 3 lbs 1/4 oz unboxed. This is a Type 11 and was made by Stanley between 1910 and 1918. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The sides have some frosting, light dings, very light pitting, and D made his mark on both of them. The sole has some frosting and scratches (besides the factory installed ones). The japanning is original and is about 75%. There are a few tiny bits of paint. The lever cap has some frosting and spots of light pitting. The chipbreaker has more of the same. The V-Logo blade has some pitting on the exposed areas and the back. The working face has some light rust etching and some spots down by the edge, but there is lots to work with. The edge has some light chips and will need a sharpening. The tote and knob are good other than D making his mark on the rear of the tote. All the screws work and were oiled. This ain't minty, but then 100 plus year old planes rarely are. A working and collectible old Stanley plane for sure! All items for sale unless otherwise noted are purchased and in most cases professionally restored by me. I take pride in offering quality items.
