Description: A roommate in college used to do re-enactments and made his own mail so I recognized this as a quality reproduction. The provenance of this piece is that I bought it from an actor (play type.. not Renaissance fair type) that didn’t like it because it was too heavy and put it away. I have done some research and some measurements (see pictures) and this is what I am fairly certain of. Material is stainless steel .. not oiled, no rust. Weight is 18.5 lbs. Steel rings are 14 gauge and are 10 mm inside measurement and 13 mm outside measurement. Ring arrangement is butted 4/1 European style. I believe these are full sleeves the opening on the sleeve ends are 10” in diameter and hang just short of the wrist. I would suspect it was designed to wear over leather or with gauntlets. Measurements are shown in the pictures but certainly can provide additional measurements when messaged. I suspect this would be classified as a large (if worn over leather) or xl is worn over cloth. To put things in perspective I am 6’3” and about 225 and it fit me ok over a cotton t- shirt but I think it would have been restrictive in shoulder/chest area if worn over thick wool or leather.
