[isdntekvideo] This is a stained-glass kaleidoscope made by award-winning scope maker, Nedra Reed. g scope maker, Nedra Reed. This scope is a kevel spinner kaleidoscope that spins on a horizontal plane. The sculptured wheel on the end creates the images within the scope, when it is turned horizontally. The scope is about 6.5 long and the sides are about an inch high. This scope has a "Southwest, Saguaro, Arrowhead, Skull, Kokopelli" theme and is made from a blue iridescent glass. Iridescent glass has a reflective sheen, much like mother-of-pearl. On one side is brass wire and a pottery saguaro cactus. On the other is brass wire and an arrowhead. All the fused glass was made by this artist in her kiln and then incorporated into this one-of-a-kind scope. The wheel on the end has fused glass pieces, a brass Kokopelli (Native American fertility figure), a pewter saguaro cactus, a pewter sun and a pewter feather. Nedra's scopes are now featured in several kaleidoscope stores, both in Arizona and in New York. They were also selected for two international competitions in the last two years. Be sure to add me to your favorites list! These Kaleidoscopes are pieces of art, and each handmade by the artist, Nedra, who has been making kaleidoscopes for over 30 years.
