Description: St. Pete 3oz. Wireline Jigs:3 oz. St. Pete Striper Jigs are made on Cape Cod from a proprietary mold forming the jig head into a teardrop shape. Other wireline jigs are round. When jigged properly the unique teardrop design forces the jig down into the sandy bottom. This creates an explosion of sand that drives the Striped Bass and Bluefish crazy. How to Use:Troll these jigs on 200-300' of 50 or 60lb. stainless steel wireline. You can either tie the jig directly to the wireline or use a very short 80 lb. mono leader. Troll at 2 - 3 knots or slower depending on your depth. The slower you're moving, the deeper the jig will reach. You want to be on the bottom. If you're not, these jigs won't work. Jig the lure at a rate of 1 jig per second. You'll feel the jig grab the bottom and you'll definitely know when you're on. Where to Use:These jigs work best on smooth sandy bottoms with few obstructions. We use them in the rips off of Monomoy and they are the go-to lure in Cape Cod Bay used by most of the charter boat captains.
