ThanksSt. John's Wort or Hypericum perforatum is a beautiful, bright, sunny yellow flower you find growing in disturbed area. This plants original use was for pain, not depression. Many folks that have used it for depression haven't had much success partly due to it's use in capsule form. St. John's works is most effective when prepared from the fresh flowering top in tincture form. The depression experienced due to SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) can may be alleviated with the use of this plant, but not generalized depression. St. John's excels in the area of nerve pain and is one I use regularly for pain of all kinds in myself and clients. St. John's strong anti-viral benefits come into play perfectly for shingles, along with a topical application of it's oil to the affected site. If you identify shingles early enough and have some St. John's tincture and/or oil on hand, you may find relief and a decrease in the duration of the illness. This is an alcohol tincture.If you use St. John' Wort in tincture from fresh plant material, the sun sensitivity many people experience may not occur. I don't want to make this an absolute statement because people differ, but in my personal and professional experience this has been the case.Dosages vary depending on use, but for pain, I always recommend starting with 1-3 dropperfuls (one squeeze of the bulb equals a dropperful) every 15 minutes until relief is achieved. Use for SAD is 1-3 dropperfuls three times a day. Listen to your body and direct your dosage from there.Returns: I am not accepting returns because of the resale safety issue of the products. Even though the bottle caps may be sealed, the stoppers bulbs are soft rubber thus not tamper proof; and oils and ointments are not sealed.
