The green banknote bears English, Sinhala, and Tamil texts. The obverse features the White Four Ring, a butterfly, a church, a mosque, Tamil Kovil, and a temple. It also shows a Sri Lanka hanging parrot and a lion holding a whip with a sword. The reverse depicts a Davul Bera drummer and a Malpadaya Netuma dancer, the guard stone of naga-raja holding a sprouting branch and a punkalasa (pot of plenty which is a symbol of prosperity), beneath a hood of cobra heads, with Sankha and Padma at its feet. It also shows a stylized Dvithva liya vela floral motif. The banknote has a 2.5-mmm wide red-to-green StarChrome windowed security thread with a demetallized CBSL RS 1000. Its watermark reveals a parrot with an electrotype 1000 and Cornerstones. The banknote is 148 x 67 mm in size. This commemorative banknote is in uncirculated condition.
