This exceptionally impressive piece features two magnificent sailing ships printed in red to opposing sides of the perfectly proportioned vessel. The finely detailed ships appear atop a most attractive blue-tinged body. Red rope twist patterns trim the top and bottom, perfectly framing the design. A most impressive twisted handle is both visually stunning and fits beautifully in ones grasp. Lavish gilt gold trims the perfectly proportioned top rim, edges the stylish handle and details an ornate foliate pattern which spills onto the body at the points where the handle connects with the vessel. The base provides the details of the two ships depicted; indicating they are the "White Diamond Liner Anglo American" and the "Ship George of Salem Built 1814". This piece is perfectly proportioned and an absolute delight to hold and use. This jug is an "Oven to Table" piece which ensures it is also wonderfully durable and functional. SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 160mms tall, measures 100mms in diameter at the base and 145mms in width from the edge of the handle to the tip of the pouring spout. CONDITION: This exceptional piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. The pattern and gilt gold trims remain wonderfully vibrant with no losses or wear and the body is clean and stain free. This piece appears to have had very little if any use and presents spectacularly.
