See Pictures Four BATTLES in NORTH AFRIKA Four Battles in North Africa is a simulation of the Battles which occured in North Africa. Four game in the Western Desert 1941-1943. Standard rules and Exclusive rules for each of the four games. Crusader, Battle for Tobruk, November 1941 On 18 November 1941, four divisions and many independent brigades of British troops drove deep into the Libyan desert. Their ovjective - to relieve the besieged fortress of Tobruk. Between them and their objective was Rommel's Afrika Korps and its Italian allies. Cauldron, Battle of Gazala, May 1942 On 26 May 1942, 500 Axis tanks moved to oppose the Eigth Army's defensive line stretching from Gazala to Bir Hacheim, but were stopped short due to inadequate supply. Rommel rallied his strength in the "Cauldron" as the British desperately tried to smash his efforts. Supercharge, Battle of El Alamein, October 1942 In Sept. '42, the Axis advance was brought short at the Alamein Line. Rommel made one last attempt to break through and press on to Cairo, but the attack was stopped atop Alam Halfa Ridge by British forces. The British then initiated a frontal assault along the northern part of the line and, after a week of continuous fighting, finally broke through. Kasserine, Baptism of Fire, February 1943. On 14 February 1943, Operation Freuhlingswind, carried out in classic blitzkrieg format, shattered the defenses of the US 1st Armored Division. The Allies withdrew to a defense of their second line as the powerful Axis forces attempted to outflank the entire Allied position in Tunisia.
