SPELTER RAISED TRUNK ASIAN ELEPHANT FIGURE

Description: HILTON HEAD HUMANE (HHH)THRIFT SPELTER RAISED TRUNK ASIAN ELEPHANT FIGURE DESCRIPTION: This figure of an African elephant came to us, as all of our offerings do, as a donation to our thrift store. Our limited research indicates that this offering is made of spelter and it does appear to have an over wash or painting that has worn away in many fine areas. This African elephant measures approximately 6 1/2" tall x 9 1/2" long and 3 1/2" wide. The animal is in a walking position with tail down and trunk up - a good luck symbol! The tusks have an ivory colored covering that is quite worn on the right tusk. The piece appears to be hollow and probably because of this is lighter than one might expect weighing only 2 pounds 15 ounces. The detail in the wrinkly skin; feet; trunk and skeletal features is quite fine. Please review the photographs closely and contact us with any questions. Our items have been donated to our thrift store and we usually do not have first hand knowledge of the item. We are also staffed by volunteers who are probably not expert in the item listed.
