Description: Special cover created for the Longs Peak Council, Boy Scouts of America, 1976 Jamboree - Exploring Space. The Longs Peak Council includes troops from Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. The cover is imprinted with the special "76 Longs Peak Council Jambo" rubber stamp. The rubber stamp includes a cornhusk for Nebraska, a bucking horse for Wyoming, the Circle C for Colorado, and the American Bicentennial Commission logo. The cover was postmarked on September 3, 1976, with a special Cheyenne, Wyoming, BSA Sta. pictorial postmark consisting of three mountains with the words "Longs Peak Council" at the top, Colo., Nebr., and Wyo. at the bottom, and the '76 logo. The unaddressed cover was stamped with the 3 cent Palomar Mountain Observatory stamp (Scott #966) and the 10 cent Mariner 10 commemorative stamp (Scott #1557). The positions of the stamps and cancel will vary slightly in these handcrafted items. Member of the American Philatelic Society APS # 084618 We usually contact customers within 24 hours of the sale.
