Description: This listing is for soil surveys done in the 1940s and 1950s in Sevier County and Blount County, Tennessee. The book that deals with Blount County is somewhat fragile. It is about 1/2 inch thick and has a stapled binding. The edges of this paperback book are delicate. About half of the book is made up of aerial photographs/ Maps of Blount County that map out certain soil characteristics. The book also has a legend for all of the symbols and designs on the maps. The survey on Sevier County has a smaller book that is in much better condition, 16 color Maps of different areas of Sevier County with information about Sevier County soils. Also included is a fairly large Legend for the colors and symbols, and also a summary of important characteristics of soils found all over Sevier county. These items are housed in what used to be a folder, but it has now lost the fold over part that it used to have. Still, it is very sturdy and holds these things well.
