His work is recognized, both in its subject and style. He is known for making use of negative space in his compositions, which he does in the print with the snow. He is known for his use of the Sosaku Hanga philosophy, which requires the artist, to carve, design and create their own woodblock prints, which runs counter to Ukiyoe and Shin Hanga methods of creating woodblock prints. The print depicts a stunning snow covered field, lightly detailed with undergrowth and landscape features. True to the Sosaku Hanga philosophy, the woodblock shows extroadinary traditional Japanese shapes and features, with the backround littered with mountains and trees. The print was purchased in 1979 from the Yoseido Gallery in Ginza Tokyo and archivally cared for since then. Artwork is unframed and will be professionally packaged and shipped UPS or US Mail.
