Description: 1977. And you would get addicted to, as the cover says, other rock&roll habits, like reading zines and the music tabloids to keep up with stuff, because there were new picture discs coming out every week and new venues opening and closing and you needed to know. So even though I was living in the US I read the British nag SOUNDS (an absolute must, somehow forgotten) and sometimes NME (but they were the enemy), but there were also the zines, much smaller and with even more heart. SNIFFIN' GLUE was the best-known of the lot, but I don't imagine they actually sold more than a few hundred of these per issue. It doesn't matter. It was earnest and funny and desperate. Issue 12, their one-year anniversary. Stuff about Chiswick Records, a lot about Sham 69, a night at the Vortex, photos of everybody (great Clash photos), Generation X (the band not the thing, the thing wasn't a thing yet), and the feeling of a loud passionate conversation in a noisy loving place. Free postage and all.
