Small MCM Vintage Ken Vares Oil Painting Nude Large Lady Woman "Closet Queen"

The artist is Ken Vares (1917 -2008) who lived in Hayward CA. and was painted between 1960-1970. I bought this piece about 10 years ago from a fellow dealer and friend who knew Ken as child and inherited much of his art. She has amazing stories of his life and how he lived it. This piece has been hanging on a wall in my office since then. The subject matter is a beautiful large woman, naked in a closet, reading a book. It is titled "Closet Queen". It measures about 6" x 8" and is signed on lower right as shown. Excellent vintage condition with a couple nicks to wood frame some of the glue to label on back spread, does not affect front. Items I sell are not new. They have been used so do not expect mint condition unless otherwise noted. Measurements are approximate and may not be totally exact.
