Description: Jack was one of the last true gunslingers to hold the title of POTUS. Jack had his issues and his shortcomings, but as President you knew he worked for the people of these United States. Held his ground against mounting pressures from his military leaders and dealing with a grossly ineffective CIA invasion of Cuba that took us to the brink of a nuclear holocaust. You knew Jack was trying to the right thing and it got him killed. This poem was written the very night after his funeral. Candy Geer was a teenager from Grosse Pointe, MI. and was pulled in by Jack’s small son John John and very succinctly wrote this poem through his eyes. After taking it to school it was read to the whole school and was submitted to a local radio station where it was read. Over 30,000 calls came in asking for a copy of her Poem. That is how this book was born. This copy is the second printing March 1964. I cannot remember if it was issued with a dust jacket or not regardless we made one this copy since it’s white to protect it going forward. It is not the original and if I not satisfied with it remove it and use the archival wrapper on another dust jacket. Book is clean inside and out and has been read only a handful of times. Binding still robust. Spine straight. Shelf wear at a minimum. Like new condition. All of our books ship inside cardboard and packaged to endure our USPS.
