Description: This fly is a must-have for euro nymphing. This is purple version of the popular Pat's Rubber leg. It's tied on a size 10 Daiichi 1730 or Umpqua U106 curved-shanked hook with a 4.5 mm tungsten bead (either gross or matte black depending on availability - both are equality effective). As a result, the fly inverts like a jig hook during the drift resulting in better hook set. It's a killer fly that often works as a heavy "anchor" in a two-nymph euro rig or by itself. Stoneflies have a 3-4 year lifecyle, which means that a nymphal form of this common bug is always present in a river system wherever stoneflies are found. That means you can fish this year around and catch fish. In summer time, drifting it in faster waters will get an immediate strike. In winter, the fish will target them in slower water. This has produced a lot of fish for me over the years. Please note that the color of the rubber leg will vary depending on how the manufacturer produces them. Sometimes, they are darker and other times lighter. Please note that if you make multiple orders and pay shipping for each one, I will refund you the shipping costs except for one.
