The first thing you should notice when you watch the clip below, is that it contains the original title of the movie. "Siren of Atlantis". Until now, the only prints floating around contain the title "Atlantis, The Lost Continent", which I believe was the title when the film was re-released either in the theaters or for television. We found an excellent source for the film and were able to restore the original title. Montez plays the man hungry Queen Antinea of Atlantis, which is located inside a mountain in the Sahara Desert, into which two officers of the French Foreign Legion stumble. Within this setting, however, the story played out is not an action adventure, but a psychological melodrama, involving a femine fatale, obsession, deception, jealousy, murder, guilt, repentance and fatalism. This movie was made in 1949, runs 72 minutes, and is in black and white. Below is a sample clip from the DVD.
