Description: SINGLETON'S EYE OINTMENT POT This is a Victorian English white porcelain/ceramic pot with blue lettering.It is advertising SINGLETON'S Eye Ointmentwhich was what was originally packaged on this pot and then covered with a waxed paper and tied around the lip. I received this information from another very helpful ebayer who also said this piece dates between 1903 and 1930.The lettering is incised into the side in a nice cobalt blue script.As you can see in the photos there is a small chip on the top edge. Great as a gift for an Opthalmologist or optician! These are now very highly collectible in England and are really wonderful additions to a medical collection.
