Description: GORGEOUS Vintage Signed Regency Butterfly Brooch From my grandmother’s jewelry collection, this gorgeous and rare vintage brooch is in EXCELLENT condition. Featuring a beautiful butterfly theme, this brooch is adorned with marquise and round brilliant crystal rhinestones in shades of light greens and blues. Smaller round stones of purple are placed throughout as accents. I'm not sure what the three body stones are, but they make me think of opals. The silver tone metal and prong setting style add to its elegance. All stones are accounted for. It is signed on the back middle segment of the body, "REGENCY". The pin with a rollover clasp is in good working order, and the piece is in excellent vintage condition. The butterfly measures approximately 1 7/8" tall x 2" wide. Handmade in the United States, this original piece is signed on the back body by the designer and showcases their attention to detail and creativity. Regency costume jewelry was created by Regina Novelty Company in New York City and operated there from 1950-1973. The jewelry produced was known for spectacular color hues, high quality designs, superior materials and fine workmanship. A favorite motif of Regency jewelry was their exquisite butterfly designs executed in dazzling and unexpected color combinations. This particular butterfly brooch is by no means, the exception. Each marquis shaped and rounded rhinestone crystal is secured into place with four prongs.
