Description: Up for your consideration is a very rare, signed hardback copy of 'Margaret Ogilvy' by (her son) J.M. Barrie; of 'Peter Pan' fame. Published by: Scribners - 1896 - First Edition - 1st Printing English Text Condition Dust Jacket: N/ANo dust jacket. I presume this is how the book was originally issued, with grey paper covered, printed boards and gilt lettering. Of all the other copies I have seen of this book, none have a DJ. Book: G+/VG-Very respectable condition overall for an antique book of almost 130 years. Some mild to moderate signs of marking/rubbing/bumping/toning from storage/handling wear to boards/text block. Text-block has rough cut edges but a smooth, gilt topped head. Internally, pages show mild toning but clear signs of foxing throughout; however the frequency is randomly dispersed. It tends to be more prevalent towards the front and rear of the book but some pages show almost no evidence of it at all (see photo 12). Thankfully there is no musty odour. Appears to be missing the first front free endpaper. Signed by the author on the first title page. Other than the signature, pages are free from extraneous pen/pencil marks and binding is solid. Despite the imperfections, it's still (imho) a very nice copy indeed.
