Description: This lovely Japanese wood sosaku creative kokeshi doll measures 3.5" high and 9" in circumference around the middle. She was designed by a highly respected kokeshi doll artist - Aoki Ryoka - who has won many top awards in Japan for her beautiful kokeshi doll creations, including one for this doll. And Aoki is one of very few women in Japan designing kokeshi dolls. This egg-shaped kokeshi is wearing a beautiful kimono decorated with large orange and white daisy-like flowers with green centers. There are also thick lines of metallic gold and silver paint for extra sparkle. Her sweet facial features are adorable and framed by her hair. The artist's signature is on the bottom. This kokeshi doll is in good vintage condition - hard to find many flaws other than a tiny ding on the back - and she would make a great addition to your growing collection. White areas are camera glare. Please remember that this is a vintage doll that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.
