• SIGNED 1994 Tracy Porter Lamp & Shade Little Red Riding Hood Stonehouse Farm

Description: This listing is for a very exciting item – an early Tracy Porter hand painted and hand signed lamp which is dated 1994. And, it works! As you likely know, Tracy Porter started her business as Stonehouse Farm Goods. This is one of those early and rare pieces and it is stunning. The base of the lamp shows Little Red Riding Hood walking with the big bad wolf. Her cape is flowing in the wind and her basket is being held away from the wolf. The bread and basket of goodies must get to grandmother safely. Overall, the item was gently brushed with an olive green to give a worn or shabby style effect to the finish. This is not wear. What a wonderful and whimsical addition to a girl’s room or nursery. The lamp is turned wood and by itself measures 16” tall from the base to the top of the brass cover over the socket. With the shade on the bulb, the lamp measures approximately 21 1/2” tall. The underside of the lamp includes the following handwritten inscription, “tracy H.S. porter © 1994 Handpainted.” The signature is in pen and is strong. The “Stonehouse Farm Goods” gold and green sticker is affixed to the center bottom of the base. The sticker shows some wear. The underside of the lamp’s base has chipped paint which is not visible when the lamp is sitting on a tabletop. See photo.The original matching shade and final, which also are hand painted, are included in this offering. The shade has a clamp feature that allows the shade to fit over the bulb. The finial is wood too. The shade has a warm tone and is painted in hunter green with a plaid pattern. The lower edge of the shade has a ring of braided cord, a ring of woven ribbon and a gathered ribbon. All are in corals, medium greens, light green, peach and some gold tones. The shade alone measures about 5” from the bottom of the shade to the top. The finial adds about another 1 ½” to the overall height. The inside of the shade is gold and will reflect the light warmly. The opening at the top of the shade measures 3” in diameter. The bottom opening of the shade measures 6” in diameter. This gem is 28 years old and in excellent condition. The lamp works and the cord is a polarized non-grounded cord (one of the prongs is larger than the other) for safety and the cord has a switch to allow for easy on/off.
