Description: Used but not a great deal. I am am amateur photographer and except for excursions up into the mountains of NC and a trip to Costa Rica the lens has basically stayed in my house in my camera bag. Glass on both ends is perfect. The lens has always been stored with the caps, third party metal lens hood and at least one filter on. I also never actually used it without at least one filter on (and usually the lens hood as well). It has never been dropped. Autofocus works perfectly. There is no haze, fungus, etc.. There is a very, very small amount of internal dust that in no way shows on photos. External cosmetic condition is very good plus, only a couple of tiny abrasions where the tripod mount collar goes on, and a tiny bit of wear around one of the switches. The tripod mount collar is the only cosmetic issue (a dent on the knob and something rattling inside the knob). The collar is supposed to be removable but somehow at the factory they put a small bit of adhesive on it and I had trouble getting it off and damaged the knob in the process. This is a minor thing, though. I suspect it was so that they could determine for warranty purposes whether the collar had ever been removed, but I genuinely do not know why they would put adhesive on the collar, but they did. The rearmost portion of the lens (the section the tripod collar goes around) has a slight amount (about 1 mm) of play in it (it moves slightly relative to the rest of the lens) but this in no way affects performance. All the photos that are not of the camera equipment itself were taken with this exact lens (using my Canon 70D). Some may have also been taken with a Kenko 2x teleconverter attached to the lens. The dark one is Jupiter showing four moons (with 2x teleconveter and manual focus). Note that this is one of the oldest versions of this lens and is not the OS or DG version.Canon EF Mount. Here is an article describing the lens: https://www.shutterbug.com/content/megazoom-sigma-50-500mm-f4-63-apo-tele-zoom-lens Included in the auction is the following: LensOriginal green Sigma lens case (basically unused, not shown). Unfortunately I do not have the foam inserts it came with (I think it had some)Original tripod mount collarFittest brand metal lens hood (much better than a plastic petal one in my opinion)Zeikos 86mm three filter set (CPL, FLD, UV) with case. The CPL and FLD are unused.A second CPL filter (Promaster brand) Unfortunately I can't seem to find the original petal lens hood but I think you will be quite happy with the Fittest metal one. Why am I selling it if there is nothing wrong with it? I came into a bit of money and decided to buy myself an early XMAS gift (Sigma 60-600mm Sport). Of course, I need to sell this one to defray the cost of that one. If you want shipping options other than what is shown then you need to understand the final pirce may be different.
