Description: Shirley Johnson Mt Saint Helens Ash Glazed Art Pottery Covered Pot Drip glazed tri-tone brown pot with lid. Glaze is made with ash from the volcano eruption of Mount Saint Helens in Washinton State. Measures about 4" tall (including the knob of the lid) and the diameter is about 5". Bottom is signed - St Helens' Ash Glaze Shirley. I believe that is Shirley Johnson, one of the more prolific potters of that area. Has been displayed and you can see crazing under the glaze and the bottom has firing cracks.
