Description: 8 REALES COIN This coin (also known as ‘Cob’ or ‘Reale’) came from the fabled ‘Lizard Silver Wreck’ at Rill Cove, an unknown vessel which sank around 1616, leaving its treasure to linger beside Kynance Cove until 1973 when it was re-discovered by divers. ‘Cobs’ represent some of the first coins minted in the Spanish New World, from Mexico, Peru, Columbia and Bolivia, and were accepted as reliable Silver currency worldwide. Sale is for a 8 REALES (piece of eight) coin as shown from my collection, Potosi mint, weight 19gr. Full shield and denomination 8. Approx' 32mm diameter. Super coin and comes with a certificate of authenticity from the salvager. PLEASE NOTE- Any red colour on the coin is just reflection from a very pink camera...!
