Shelley China EVE Shape 12559 Covered Butter Cheese Muffin Dish Bluebell Flowers

Description: Hard to find Shelley China covered dish in the 'Eve' shape - for butter, cheese and also called a covered muffin. The pattern name is unknown to me but it is a charming rendition of flowers and leaves in an Art Deco / MCM / abstract style. Definitely Bluebells though! The background colors are white and a light peach with blue dots and a curly-que edge. Pink, green and tan are also included in the floral pattern. The number 12559 is hand written. The registration (Rd) number 756533 appears on other pieces I have listed in this pattern but it is not on this piece. This number was also used on Vogue and Mode shapes. From what I could research and the Deco styling, my guess is that this is a 1950's design, although the mark was used into the 60's. The plate measures 7.25" diameter and is about an 1" deep inside. The top is 5.5" diameter and about 2" deep. Excellent condition with no damage - no chips, nicks, cracks or staining. The finish retains it's original shine! This piece look barely used. Hard to find this unusual Shelley in the states! A great addition to your collection. Please see a few other pieces I have listed in this pattern. It will be packaged carefully to arrive safely!
