SGC 2 - 1953 Topps #207 Whitey Ford New York Yankees HOF

Description: An SGC graded GOOD 2 - 1953 Topps card of Hall of Famer Whitey Ford of the New York Yankees. This example has no creasing, bold printing, good focus, excellent color and bright borders. The corners are consistent with those found on most EX+/EXMT examples, with the exception of just slightly more wear on the upper and lower left corners. The printing is shifted very close to the top edge, but the card still displays fairly well. There are two light indentations (approx. 1/2" and 3/4" long) on the right border that can be seen when the card is tilted to the light, but neither appears to go through to the back. There is another light indentation (approx. 1/2" wide) in the upper left portion of the photo that looks as though someone put a piece of paper on top of the card and wrote on it, leaving an indentation on the card, but no pencil or ink is on the surface. It can be seen when the card is tilted carefully to the light. There is also a small white printing imperfection above the letter "R" in the player's last name, but it does not detract too much from the overall eye appeal. On the back of the card, there is some wax residue in a few places from the original wrapper the card was packaged inside of, but all of the printing is still bold and legible. Otherwise, the back is clean with bold printing. Even with the flaws, this is still a very nice looking card for the grade that would not look out of place in an SGC 2.5 holder.
