When you buy this item in the store it does not come packaged in a box, at least this one did not when I purchased it a year ago. It will be packaged up in a new box and shipped USPS ground advantage within 24 hours, unless it's a weekend then next business day. Why am I getting rid of it? Because my family got me a another one and I don't need two. I never even went to a whole bag of rice before putting it away. I'd rather get rid of the one I bought than the one someone bought for me. Retailing for over $118 normally, you won't be disappointed as you can use this again and again.
