SELMER PARIS S80 SOPRANO SAXOPHONE MOUTHPIECE - C* FACING C STAR

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a Selmer (Paris) S80 C* mouthpiece for Bb soprano saxophone. The S80 is widely regarded as one of the best all around mouthpieces for intermediate to advanced level players. This piece is ideally suited for all varieties of 'legit' music, such as concert/symphonic band, orchestra, sax quartet/chamber ensemble, and solo classical performance. It will also work for jazz and contemporary styles in a pinch. The C* facing is the most popular. It is more open at the tip than a typical stock/student level mouthpiece, but not so open as to be difficult to control. This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. The facing is perfectly smooth, and original. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There is just one tiny scratch on the exterior. Obviously, the rubber has faded/discolored with age. Also, the logo/markings have worn off. This was made during the period when the logo was stamped on rather than indented into the material. These tended to wear off like this. It is easily identified as a Selmer S80 by its interior and exterior shape, and the batch mark (WL), which for some reason they did still indent. I confirmed it was a C* by measuring with a Theo Wanne tip gauge. It came in right on spec at .047". This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized. These sell for around $160 for a brand new one on ebay, and the cost at a brick and mortar music store is much higher. This is a great chance to get a high quality, as good as new Selmer mouthpiece at a significant savings compared to the cost of a brand new one! Please feel free to email me with any questions.
