Description: A signed limited edition aquatint etching by listed Swiss artist Annapia Antonini (b.1942). It is a view of a girl standing by a ornate balustrade on a lawned terrace looking out over the sea beyond where there is a sail boat passing.Lots of little flowers on the lawn, a bright summer sky, the sea sparkling in the light. Titled below 'L'air du large' (The Sea Air). Signed in pencil by the artist, lower right. Marked EA (Edition d'artiste) this is an artist's proof, number 2 of 20. Note I also have number 3 available. Printed on thick wove paper and in excellent condition, just a few tiny faint specks at the bottom right corner. The sheet measures 50 x 42cm, the plate only is 30 x 24.5cm. Annapia Antonini was born in Lucerne, Switzerland. She studied art in Switzerland before moving to Paris in 1962 where she continued her studies at Academie Julian (painting) and at Friedlander's Atelier (etching). Her first exhibition was held in Paris in 1964 and since then she has exhibited throughout Europe and also in Japan and the USA. In 1989 she was chosen to design a stamp issued by France. There are many auction records for her work with prices for a single etching up to £300. This etching is listed in her catalogue raisonne and was created in 1986.
