Description: This set of Scholastic, nonfiction, early readers is awesome! It is brand new and in excellent condition! This set comes from a smoke free home. This set of 5 paperbacks is from the "Brain Bank" series and includes the following titles: Fur, Hummingbirds, The Moth, What's the Difference?, and The Runaway Otter. The books measure 7.5" x 5.875", are each 16 pages, and have a copyright date of 2006 or 2007. Each has a different author. The books are all illustrated with photographs. "The Runaway Otter" is both illustrated with photos and drawings by Miguel Carvajal. In "What's the Difference?", children will learn that some kinds of animals and insects look the same, but they have important differences. They will find out what is different and what is the same. In "Fur", children will learn that many animals have fur and that there are many different kinds of fur. They will find out that fur keeps animals snug and warm, but that it not all fur does! In "Hummingbirds", children will learn that these creatures are very little, but they can fly extremely fast. They will find out many other things that these tiny birds can do. In "The Moth", children will learn that a moth starts out life as an egg and how the egg changes into a moth. And, "The Runaway Otter" is a book about a little otter who ran away from her home at the zoo. People looked all over town to find her. Children will find out how the search ended. This book set includes the following nonfiction features: table of contents, glossary, index, labeling, diagrams, and bold print of specialized vocabulary. "The Runaway Otter" also has a "Note From the Author" in the back of the book, and "Fur" has a "Match the Fur to the Animal" page in the back. And, "What's the Difference?" includes "What's the Same?" text boxes on every other page. This set is rare and very difficult to find, especially in brand new condition! I have not seen any of the titles in this series currently listed as new. This set would make a wonderful addition to a primary classroom library! It would also be great to have in a household with young children! I am hoping to find it a good home.
